Neighborhood

Parkridge Estates in the Oakland Hills

Parkridge Estates is a secluded neighborhood of over 200 mostly ranch-style homes built between 1963 and 1968 on just seven streets carved into the gentle hills above Skyline Boulevard. Its main border is the vast chain of East Bay regional parks.  Many homeowners have unobstructed backyard views that stretch miles into Contra Costa County, some with dazzling looks at Mount Diablo.

Just three streets enter the neighborhood. The main one, Parkridge Drive, terminates at a gate and trailhead for Anthony Chabot Regional Park. Every morning and evening, walkers and their dogs head from their homes up to the trails and back. (SF Chron, 2011)

Venture out of the neighborhood and you’ll enter the larger environs of Montclair, with its shops and restaurants and its close proximity to commuting options.  The Laurel and Dimond districts are close by and those business districts are enjoying a renaissance, with cafes and retail proliferating.

Commute options include the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), casual carpool, and AC Transit bus lines. For Parkridge Estates residents, BART can be conveniently accessed at Rockridge, Fruitvale, Oakland Coliseum, and San Leandro stations.
